This Sunday, November 30, 2025, South Africa’s (SA) Johannesburg Nirox Sculpture Park will once again come alive with music, art, and celebration as HughFest returns for its 12th year.
Now in its fourth edition at this stunning venue, the festival has become a highlight of SA’s cultural calendar, a day to celebrate creativity, heritage, and community.
The stage will shine with performances from Shekhinah, The Soul Brothers, Mi Casa, Madala Kunene & Sibusile Xaba, The Brother Moves On, and iComplete, each bringing their unique energy to a festival that has grown into a living tribute to the vision of the legendary Bra Hugh Masekela.
“Founded in 2013, HughFest continues to captivate and create community,” says Pula Twala, Bra Hugh’s daughter and co-organiser. Her cousin Mabusha Masekela adds, “This festival is a celebration of African identity, family, friends, and art in a beautiful natural setting. Bra Hugh’s spirit lives on in every note and every moment.”
HughFest is not just music, it’s a joyous expression of heritage, culture, and the vibrant energy of the African diaspora.
