Ayra Starr headlining performance marks major afrobeats milestone

Nigerian pop sensation Ayra Starr has written her name into the history books by becoming the first African artiste to headline a National Football League (NFL) halftime show.

She took centre stage in London at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during the Week Five fixture between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Delivering an electrifying performance, the star treated the international crowd to a high-energy medley of her biggest chart-toppers, including “Santa,” “Heaven Baby,” and tracks from her latest project.

The milestone marks another major victory for the global export of Afrobeats, further cementing the Beninese-born Nigerian singer’s status as a powerhouse on the world stage since bursting onto the scene with Mavin Records.
