Tyla’s upcoming world tour schedule has undergone a quiet change, with Nigeria no longer listed among her concert stops.
The 24-year-old South African (SA) singer initially released dates for 34 cities following the launch of her second album, A*POP. The original schedule included African dates in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Lagos, but an update to her official website today showed the Nigerian leg has been removed.
No official reason was provided for the removal. However, the change comes after online calls from some Nigerian music fans urging her to skip the performance, pointing to recent anti-illegal migrant sentiment in SA that has once again strained relations between the two countries.
While Nigerian fans will miss out on this leg of the tour, performance dates for Johannesburg and Cape Town remain unchanged. Tyla’s representatives have not yet commented on whether the Lagos date will be rescheduled.
