Addis Ababa a hive of activity as leaders arrive for African Union summit

South Africa’s (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia ahead of the African Union leaders’ summit which will take place this weekend

The summit will convene under the theme of assuring sustainable water availability and safe sanitation systems to achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063. The city is a hive of activity as the continent’s leaders are also exepcted to focus on issues of peace and security, climate change and economic integration. United Nations (UN) General Secretary, Antonio Guterres is set to deliver his last address before bowing later this year. He says the AU must work with the UN since the continental body is increasingly central in shaping global peace.
