African continent lags behind in terms of infrastructure

It is reported that the African continent lags behind in terms of infrastructure development.

This came out of the Luanda Summit on Financing for Infrastructure Development in Africa, in Angola.

The summit aims to discuss and come up with innovative ways of mobilising domestic resources to generate adequate capital for infrastructure development.

The lack of energy infrastructure, road networks, railways, and digital and data infrastructure, creates inequalities on the continent.

This is according to the African leaders who have converged in Luanda to discuss how best to handle the matter.

Addressing the Summit, Angolan President and African Union Chairperson, Joao Lourenco said young people must take the lead with new innovations to deal with the  lack of adequate infrastructure in Africa.
