African Anti-Corruption Day was commemorated over the weekend, marking the adoption of the African Union (AU) Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption.

Since its establishment, the day has served as a platform for reflection, advocacy, and renewed action against corruption across the continent.

This year’s theme, “Scaling Up the Promotion of Integrity and Anti-Corruption Actions Across Africa,” underscores the need to strengthen transparency and accountability.

AU Commission Chairperson, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, says the fight against corruption is fundamental to advancing Africa’s development, peace, security, and social justice.
