The African Development Bank has approved a significant loan to help young people in Equatorial Guinea gain practical skills for work and entrepreneurship.
The programme will focus on areas such as agriculture, fisheries, technology, and other vocational training, with a special emphasis on empowering women. Officials hope the initiative will open pathways to employment and small business opportunities, tackling youth unemployment in the country.
Geopolitical analyst Aaron Ng’ambi commented, “This is an encouraging development for the region. Giving young people the skills they need is crucial for both job creation and long-term economic growth. The real test will be ensuring these projects are put into practice effectively and reach the people who need them most.”
While the funding offers a strong foundation, Ng’ambi stressed that the success of the programme will depend on its smooth and timely implementation.
