New Zealand have retained the Bledisloe Cup and have stretched their unbeaten run in tests at Eden Park in Auckland to 54 matches.
The All Blacks beat Australia in the first of two tests 50-19, outscoring the Wallabies by seven tries to three.
The hosts held a slender 17-14 lead at halftime, but took control of the match in the second half, denying the Wallabies possession and forcing defensive errors. It was also the All Blacks’ 12th consecutive victory over their Trans-Tasman rivals.
The second test of the series will be played in Sydney next weekend.
