56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum

The 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum kicks off in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland this week under the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue,” amid rising geopolitical fragmentation and rapid technological change.

The World Economic Forum says this year’s theme has led record participation as the forum focuses on fostering collaboration in a world beset with fragmentation and uncertainty.

At the core of the summit is the notion that the world operates in a new economic reality where geo-politics, technological innovation, and economic resilience are intertwined.

It’s hoped deliberations can make a difference in the geo-political, and geo economic environment, unlock growth, trade and how to better invest in people.

Borge Brende, Chief Executive Office of the World Economic Forum says the summit brings together 65 Heads of State and government, Central Bank Governors, Ministers of Finance, trade and Foreign Affairs as well as business executives, civil society, academia and major international organisations to try and find solutions to pressing world challenges.
