Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany says his side is bracing for a brutal confrontation in their Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League semi-final first leg tie against title holders, Paris St Germain (PSG).
The two-legged semi-finals begin tonight with Bayern up against PSG, while Arsenal will play Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.

Kompany believes that Bayern Munich and Paris St Germain are natural enemies in their playing styles.

He has briefed his team to expect a frustrating night at the Parc des Princes in Paris, fully expecting PSG to counter everything Bayern throws at the reigning champions.

Key players Harry Kane, Luis Diaz, Michael Olise and Joshua Kimmich all travelled with the squad to Paris.

However, the likes of Serge Gnabry and Tom Bischof are unavailable.
Bayern have won the Champions League six times, most recently in 2020.

Meanwhile, PSG coach Luis Enrique says that he is fully aware of the difficulty of playing against Bayern.

PSG are defending the title after winning it for the first time last year.
They arrive at the semi-final stage of the Champions League ready to face what many regard as the most consistent team in Europe.
