Controversial pan-Africanist Kemi Seba is expected to appear in court

Controversial pan-Africanist Kemi Seba is expected to appear in court in South Africa (SA) on Monday following his arrest in Pretoria.

Seba, whose legal name is Stellio Gilles Robert Capo Chichi, was apprehended by the Hawks alongside his teenage son, Khonsou Capo Chichi, and a local facilitator. The arrests were carried out during an intelligence-driven operation at a shopping centre in the Brooklyn suburb of Pretoria, SA, last Sunday.

Authorities say checks conducted through Interpol confirmed that Capo Chichi is a wanted fugitive in Benin on charges linked to crimes against the state. Preliminary investigations also indicate he is also wanted in France for similar offences.

Extradition processes are already underway.
