The reopened inquest into the death of South Africa’s (SA) anti-apartheid activist and Black Consciousness Movement founder, Stephen Bantu Biko, has been postponed to January 30, 2026.
The trial is moved for a virtual case management.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority, the persons of interest in the case are in the process of securing state-funded legal representation.
It is also reported that the funding now in its final stages of approval.
The hearing into the inquest is expected to begin in March 2026, once these arrangements are finalised.
