Four Liberian match officials have been handed a prestigious continental assignment by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to oversee the upcoming CAF Champions League preliminary-round fixture between Nigeria’s Rangers International FC and Algerian champions MC Alger.
Reflecting the growing stature of Liberia’s refereeing corps across the continent, experienced official Washington Dolo will take charge as the center referee for the first leg on October 17 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, Nigeria.
Dolo will be assisted on the touchlines by fellow Liberians Joel Doe and Thomas Konneh as assistant referees, while Emmanuel Mensah will handle pitchside operations as the fourth official.
The return-leg tie is scheduled for October 24 in Algeria, with the appointments underscoring CAF’s expanding trust in Liberian officiating standards at the highest level of club competition.
