The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced the nominees in the men’s categories for the CAF Awards 2025, celebrating Africa’s finest players, coaches, clubs and national teams.
Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen, Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah headline the shortlist for the coveted African Footballer of the Year Award. Osimhen, who continues to shine for Napoli and the Super Eagles, is widely seen as one of the frontrunners for the honour.
Also in contention are Frank Anguissa (Cameroon, Napoli), Fiston Mayele (Democratic Republic of Congo, Pyramids FC), Denis Bouanga (Gabon, Los Angeles FC), Serhou Guirassy (Guinea, Borussia Dortmund), Oussama Lamlouhi (Tunisia, Étoile du Sahel), Iliman Ndiaye (Senegal, Everton) and Pape Matar Sarr (Senegal, Tottenham Hotspur).
The annual CAF Awards recognise outstanding achievements in African football across various categories, with the winners set to be crowned at a ceremony later this year.
