The Africa Matters Summit highlighted urgent priorities for the continent’s future.
Tshepiso Makwetla, a presenter at Channel Africa, noted that the summit reached clear resolutions.
She emphasized that climate change is already costing Africa between 7% and 15% of its Gross Domestic Product annually.
She further stated that the continent is undergoing a decisive shift and stands at the forefront of shaping its own future.
According to her, climate commitments must guide industrial policy, trade frameworks, and mineral beneficiation strategies.
Channel Africa is gearing up to host the first ever Africa Matters summit on Wednesday, with this year’s theme “Climate Change’ financing Africa’s recovery”.
