Archbishop Doctor Thabo Makgoba delivered his mass sermon

South Africa’s (SA) Archbishop Doctor Thabo Makgoba delivered his mass sermon at the St George’s Cathedral on Wednesday night, he called on the politically and economically powerful, to think about the true meaning of Christmas.

The annual Christmas Eve message has traditionally been a platform for Makgoba to raise SA and global socio-economic issues.

This year, in his 18th Christmas sermon, Makgoba dedicated his message to the plight of marginalised and displaced communities, as well as those fleeing war and poverty.

The pulpit in the St George’s Cathedral has for decades been a platform to highlight issues affecting the country.

Makgoba, known for his direct approach in tackling issues, he spoke to the heart of SA’s socio-economic and political landscape.
