Cameroon moved to the brink of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) quarter-finals following a 1–0 group-stage victory over Ghana at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca.
Forward Marie-Gisele Ngah Manga proved decisive once again, converting a first-half penalty awarded after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review. The spot-kick marked Ngah Manga’s third goal of the tournament, representing all of Cameroon’s goals in the competition so far.
Ghana pressed for an equaliser in the closing stages and appeared to have drawn level when Evelyn Badu found the back of the net, but the goal was subsequently disallowed for offside following another VAR review.
The victory leaves the Indomitable Lionesses in a strong position to secure a place in the knockout stages, while the Black Queens face a must-win fixture against Mali to maintain their chances of advancing.
