The President of Cameroon, Paul Biya, has returned home after a 73-day absence ending months of speculation about his health and whereabouts.
The world’s oldest serving head of state, who is 93, arrived at Yaounde’s Nsimalen International Airport aboard a chartered flight from Geneva, Switzerland, after more than 10 weeks away.
Biya has been serving as the second President of Cameroon since 1982.
He was previously the fifth Prime Minister under President Ahmadou Ahidjo from 1975 to 1982.
He left for Geneva in June for what his office described as a brief private stay in Europe.
