Canal+ Group has secured exclusive broadcasting rights for all Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) men’s club competitions across Sub-Saharan Africa for four consecutive seasons, spanning from 2027 through to 2031.
The agreement gives the French media conglomerate exclusive rights to broadcast the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Conference League across Anglophone, Francophone, and Lusophone African markets.
The broadcast deal reinforces Canal+’s footprint on the continent as it works to complete a takeover of South Africa-based MultiChoice Group, the parent company of DStv and Showmax.
Football fans across Sub-Saharan Africa will have access to all matches across UEFA’s premier club tournaments across digital terrestrial, satellite, and streaming platforms under the new four-year deal.
