The killing of political candidates is raising concerns about the integrity of South Africa’s (SA) upcoming Local Government Elections.
The University of SA’s (UNISA) political scientist and researcher Professor Kealeboga Maphunye says election-related violence must be condemned.
He was speaking at the UNISA and National Press Club’s Local Government Elections Dialogue in Pretoria.
With just a few days before the Local Government Elections, Professor Maphunye has warned that such deaths compromise the credibility of the polls.
