The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has signed a landmark agreement with Channel 4, giving the United Kingdom (UK) broadcaster the rights to air the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025.
For the first time, fans across the UK will be able to watch the tournament for free. The competition kicks off on December 21 in Morocco, with 24 teams playing 52 matches across nine stadiums.
CAF General Secretary Véron Mosengo-Omba described the deal as historic, noting that it will allow “the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 to reach every household in the UK for the first time in the tournament’s history.”
The tournament will feature a number of Premier League stars, including Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah and Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush, who will represent Egypt, the continent’s most successful national side.
