Colombia booked their place in the World Cup last 32 with a 1-0 win over Democratic Republic Congo (DRC) in Guadalajara, thanks to a deflected Daniel Muñoz goal in the 76th minute.

The Crystal Palace wing-back had already threatened early on but finally broke the deadlock after Juan Fernando Quintero’s clever pass set him up to beat Lionel Mpasi.

Colombia, dominant throughout, missed several chances through Luis Díaz and Jhon Arias, while DRC pushed late for an equaliser but could not find a way through.

The victory puts Colombia top of Group K with two wins, while DRC remain third and must beat Uzbekistan in their final game to keep their knockout hopes alive.
