The Cuban Ambassador to South Africa (SA), Fakri Rodriguez Pinelo, says the island nation is reeling from the impact of the United States (US) imposed blockade.
Cuba says the blockade has cost Havana over $8 billion in economic damage in the last year.
Washington DC has previously said the blockade and sanctions are necessary to force a change in the Cuban government.
Fakri Rodriguez Pinelo says they are counting on the international community to ensure that the blockade is ended.
