Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has approved the entry of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger into the Inter-Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa.
The move allows the three Sahel states to take part in regional efforts to curb money laundering, terrorist financing and other illicit financial activities. The body plays a central role in promoting financial transparency and strengthening regulatory cooperation across the region.
ECOWAS says the decision is aimed at maintaining coordinated action against financial crime, even as the three countries navigate ongoing political transitions and shifting regional dynamics.
