Egypt’s Civil Aviation Ministry has announced the opening of bids for private companies to manage, operate and develop the Hurghada International Airport, according to a statement published this Wednesday.
Under the initiative, the government, with advisory support from the International Finance Corporation, will seek strategic partners for the airport’s operation, while retaining public ownership of the facility.
The tender comes after a series of technical and regulatory studies aimed at ensuring a smooth transition and safeguarding Egypt’s sovereign control over key civil aviation assets.
