Egypt’s ​annual urban consumer inflation accelerated ‌
Egypt’s ​annual urban consumer inflation accelerated ‌to 14.9% in July from 14.3% in June, state ​statistics agency Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics ​said on Monday.
Nationwide annual inflation ⁠rose 13.0% in July ​compared with July 2025.
Urban food ​and beverage prices fell 0.6% month-on-month in July but were ​8.0% higher than a ​year earlier.
Nationwide, the all-items index rose ‌0.1% ⁠from June, with food and beverages slipping 0.1% month-on-month.
Rural annual inflation reached ​11.2% in ​July, ⁠with rural food and beverages up 7.8% ​year-on-year.
Thirteen analysts polled byReuters ⁠between July 29 and August 6 had forecast ⁠a ​range of 14.6% ​to 16.3%.
