Egypt’s non-oil private sector experienced its fastest growth in five years in November, with the S&P Global Egypt PMI rising to 5.1, indicating expansion
This growth was fueled by increases in output and new orders, marking the highest level since October 2020. Although most sectors saw improvements, wholesale and retail activity declined. New business intakes ended a decline that lasted eight months, with manufacturing, construction, and services reporting gains.
Employment levels remained unchanged despite the growth, while overall cost inflation eased, aided by a stronger local currency.
