Family of a missing Somali Businessman has initiated their own search

The family of a missing Somali Businessman has initiated their own search after his vehicle was carried away by floodwaters in South Africa’s (SA) Limpopo Province.

Nur Ali, 36, and another man, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, were caught in the strong currents while attempting to cross a low-lying bridge in Tswinga village.

Authorities have confirmed that rescue efforts are ongoing, but the family, frustrated by the slow progress, has begun organising private searches in the area. Local residents have also joined the efforts, highlighting the dangers posed by heavy rains and flooding in the region.

Officials continue to warn motorists against attempting to cross flooded roads or bridges, emphasising the life-threatening risks during severe weather events.
