FIFA confirms over one million tickets sold for 2026 World Cup

More than one million tickets have already been sold for next year’s FIFA World Cup, the organisation announced Thursday in its first update since official sales began earlier this month.

Unsurprisingly, the highest demand has come from buyers in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the three host nations for the 2026 tournament. FIFA revealed that fans from 212 different countries and territories have already secured tickets, even though only 28 of the 48 qualifying spots have been filled.

Rounding out the top 10 countries with the most ticket purchases so far are England, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Colombia, Argentina, and France.

The tournament will run from June 11 through to the July 19, promising to be one of the most globally attended sporting events in history.
