The FIFA World Cup 2026 has been hailed as the biggest sporting event in history, delivered on an unprecedented scale across North America. Staged over 39 days, the tournament stretched across 16 Host Cities, 48 Team Base Camps and 645 official sites, with nearly 300 000 accredited personnel supporting operations for 1,248 players and a record stadium attendance of 6.8 million fans.
Behind the scenes, more than 43 000 volunteers, 73 700 security personnel and a FIFA workforce representing 104 nationalities helped deliver the smooth running of all 104 matches.
