The International Federation of Association Football World (FIFA) Trophy has arrived in Washington DC, touring some of the United States (US) capital’s most iconic sites, ahead of the much-anticipated draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup 2026 on Friday evening.
Football’s ultimate prize was then showcased at the legendary John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts, where football legend Rio Ferdinand and FIFA representatives welcomed the media for an exclusive sneak peek of what’s to be expected.
This will be the biggest ever FIFA World Cup draw in terms of teams with 48 nations participating.
Former England Captain, Rio Ferdinand, shared his excitement as he prepared to conduct the historic 48 team final draw alongside award-winning broadcaster, Samantha Johnson, on Friday.
A stellar line-up of draw assistants will join the proceedings in a crossover of global sporting greats.
Sports stars such as National Football League legend Brady, basketball all-star Shaquille O’Neal, ice hockey icon, Wayne Gretzky, will assist with the draw.
