Zimbabwe’s Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube predicts economic growth for 2026.
Ncube told lawmakers in Parliament on Thursday during the country’s 2026 budget presentation that despite unforeseen external challenges, the rebound in agriculture and mining would boost the economic growth.
In Previous years Zimbabwe’s economy has been hit by droughts, which curbed food production and hydroelectric power supply, dragging growth to 2% in 2024.
High Inflation has also impacted the economy, however Mthuli forecasts it will fall to 10% by year end and reach single digit levels by early 2026.
Currently its stands at 19%, Zimbabwe is also not able to access financial support from international lenders due to a huge debt burden of over $23 billion.
