Speaking to Channel Africa, Jonas says the historic summit has underscored the strength of global support for multilateralism.
“The G20 was a very important moment for SA, but also for the world, because if you think about it, if you want to look at the world today, you’ve got two contending forces, forces against multilateralism and in favor of multilateralism, and forces that support multilateralism, and both are strong, no doubt, but the G20 was a success for multilateral forces. It shows that in the world, we still have very strong forces that support trade, very strong forces that support multilateral action as it were,” he said.
