Mapisa-Nqakula is back on the witness stand in the Gauteng High Court

Former South African (SA) National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula is back on the witness stand in the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria, Gauteng Province as her version of where her money came from comes under scrutiny.

Mapisa-Nqakula has been detailing the salary and allowances she received while serving as Defence Minister, including foreign currency allowances for official travel.

She faces 12 counts of corruption and one of money laundering, arising from allegations that she solicited millions of rands in cash and benefits from defence contractor Nombasa Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu.

Mapisa-Nqakula has pleaded not guilty and denies receiving corrupt payments.
