The son of the late former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and another suspect are expected to appear in the Alexandra Magistrates Court, in South Africa this Monday morning.
Bellarmine “Chatunga” Mugabe and another man were arrested following the shooting of a 23-year-old gardener at Mugabe’s Hyde Park home, north of Johannesburg, last week. The employee sustained two gunshot wounds and is said to be in a critical condition in hospital.
The pair face charges of attempted murder and have been in custody at the Bramley police station following their arrest.
The firearm allegedly used in the shooting incident has still not been found.
Security Strategist Andy Mashaile believes the crime scene may have been tampered with. “Someone on the inside removed that firearm to ensure the crime scene is contaminated. This is an intentional contamination of the crime scene to mess up the evidence so that the individual cannot be arrested by police; this means that there is intentional defeating of the ends of justice.”
