Police say they responded to the scene in the Umatata area, in the town of Inanda on Saturday where two burnt-out vehicles were found. Police Spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda says upon arrival at the scene, police found one body burnt beyond recognition inside a Nissan NP200.
“Three other bodies were found inside a Toyota Rumion, also burnt beyond recognition. Police also found three carcasses of cattle next to the NP200 vehicle. Police are investigating four counts of murder after four people were found burnt to death inside two vehicles at Umatata area in Inanda on Saturday, 15 November 2025. The motive of the killings is unknown at this stage, however police suspect that incident could be related to stock theft,” he said.
