South Africa (SA) and France are deepening their longstanding economic partnership, with the French Embassy hosting the fifth France–SA Business Forum in Sandton, Johannesburg.
The flagship gathering brings together French and South African companies, investors, institutions and key stakeholders to explore new business opportunities, strengthen partnerships and support international expansion.
Opening the forum, French interim Ambassador to SA Benjamin Cobouat highlights the country’s improving electricity supply, noting that SA has recorded 476 consecutive days without load shedding as of September 4, a significant change from the energy challenges of two years ago.
“Two years ago, during the last business forum organized in SA, the economic conversation looked rather different. At the time, low trading was still one of those expressions that every foreigner arriving in SA would learn very quickly, usually shortly after learning Brahmi. Now, by September 4, SA has recorded 476 consecutive days without low trading. For anyone who experienced stage six, that is quite a change.”
