French President Emmanuel Macron has praised South Africa (SA) for hosting a successful G20 Leaders’ Summit, the first time the event has been held on the African continent.
Speaking to the media at Johannesburg’s Nasrec Expo Centre, Macron described the summit as “a major milestone” for both SA and the continent. He highlighted the significance of the African Union having a seat at the table, noting it as “an important step for Africa as a whole in shaping global decisions for the future.”
The two-day summit, which brings together the world’s leading and emerging economies, will conclude later this Sunday.
