The G20 Leaders’ Summit declaration has been adopted by consensus on Day One of the G20 Summit at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa (SA).
This was as President Cyril Ramaphosa officially opened the summit by outlining SA’s four high-level priorities as G20 President and setting a broad agenda to accelerate economic growth both locally and globally.
Ramaphosa underscored the administration’s focus on driving industrialisation, reducing inequality, expanding employment opportunities, strengthening security frameworks and navigating the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence.
He also welcomed the findings of the G20 Africa Expert Panel, chaired by former Finance Minister Trevor Manuel, which has called for the establishment of a global policy architecture to mobilise long-term financing and investment flows, particularly for developing economies.
