Gary Player Golf and Country Club is preparing to showcase a series of updates to its renowned course layout ahead of this year’s Nedbank Golf Challenge.

The Gary Player Golf and Country Club, one of South Africa’s (SA) most celebrated sporting venues, is preparing to showcase a series of updates to its renowned course layout ahead of this year’s Nedbank Golf Challenge.

The tournament, held in honour of legendary golfer and Grand Slam winner Gary Player, will see professionals from around the world return to the North West province for one of Africa’s premier golfing events.

The course, designed by Player himself, has built a reputation as one of the most challenging and picturesque in the region. This year’s event will feature subtle design adjustments aimed at improving the playing experience while maintaining the demanding character that defines the Sun City layout.

For those looking to play the course outside of the tournament, the green fees vary depending on membership status and day of play. Visitors can expect to pay around $86 for an 18-hole round, which includes a halfway house meal.

Caddie services are available at an additional cost of between $10 and $13, excluding tips. Golf carts are not permitted, meaning players must walk the course, a tradition that reflects Player’s own philosophy of discipline and endurance.

As anticipation builds for the Nedbank Golf Challenge, the revamped course is expected to add a fresh dimension to an event that has become a cornerstone of SA’s sporting calendar and a major attraction for golf enthusiasts across the continent.
