Ghana has signed a new memorandum of understanding with the Africa Tourism Research Network, a move expected to strengthen co-operation on tourism across the region and widen opportunities for the sector at home.
Political Analyst and conflict resolution analyst ,Dr David Matsanga notes that the partnership could help attract fresh investment, encourage more travel within the continent and build on Ghana’s reputation as one of West Africa’s more established tourism destinations.
The initiative is set to draw funding from several sources, including government budgets, private investors, and international partners. Organisations such as the United Nations World Tourism Organisation are also expected to play a role in supporting the programme.
