Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, has announced plans to deploy the Ghana Armed Forces’ 48 Engineer Regiment to Jamaica to support rebuilding efforts following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa.
The specialised unit will assist Jamaican authorities with reconstruction work, including restoring damaged infrastructure and providing technical support in areas hardest hit by the storm.
Mahama said the deployment reflects Ghana’s commitment to international solidarity and co-operation during humanitarian crises.
