Senior Parliamentarians, Ministers, and global health leaders are gathering in Cape Town, South Africa (SA), from today until May 15, for a high-level meeting on health.

The meeting brings together Chairpersons of Health and Finance Committees from across Anglophone Africa.

Coordinated by the Global Tuberculosis (TB) Caucus and local partners, including SA National Aids Council.

The meeting aims to boost political commitment, improve health systems, and secure financing for TB response.

TB remains one of the deadliest killers in society after the World Health Organisation revealed in March that a total of 1.23 million people died from TB in 2024.
