Greenpeace Africa Climate and Energy Campaigner and Africa Matters Summit panellist Siya Myeza says discussions are centred on strengthening African energy policies that respond to the climate crisis while supporting a transition from heavy fossil-fuel dependence to affordable, low-carbon energy systems.
Myeza emphasised policy action to accelerate Africa’s transition to affordable clean energy.
Africa Matters Summit which will take place on March 25 at the Wits Business School in Johannesburg, Gauteng Province, aims to shift the narrative, ensuring African voices and perspectives shape the discourse on critical continental issues.
This year’s theme focuses on climate change, “Financing Africa’s Recovery.”
