South Africa’s (SA) Department of Health in collaboration with the World Stroke Organisation (WSO) in hosting a two-day World Stroke Summit Africa in Johannesburg, Gauteng Province.
This is part of ongoing efforts to elevate stroke as a pressing health and development priority across the continent, requiring coordinated national and regional action.
According to the World Health Organisatio recorded over 11 million new cases of strokes globally in 2021.
The number made the condition the third leading cause of death and disability.
