SA mining billionaire Patrice Motsepe has once again denied rumours that he plans to run for President of the ANC

South African (SA) mining billionaire Patrice Motsepe has once again denied rumours that he plans to run for President of the African National Congress (ANC) at the party’s 2027 elective conference.

Motsepe, who chairs African Rainbow Minerals, addressed the speculation while presenting the company’s latest financial results to shareholders.

He described the rumours linking him to the so-called “PM27” succession campaign as “false and unfounded.”

Motsepe said he used the financial results briefing to make it clear that he is not part of any political campaign related to the 2027 ANC leadership race.

The businessman told investors that his main focus remains on the company and its contribution to the economy of SA.

Motsepe is one of Africa’s richest business leaders and has often been mentioned in discussions about future leadership within the ANC, but he has repeatedly stated that he has no plans to run for the party’s top position.
