The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has cautioned that Sierra Leone must undertake a stronger fiscal adjustment to correct last year’s policy slippages, despite the economy showing resilience to tighter macroeconomic policies

This follows the conclusion of an IMF mission to Freetown from the October 3 to October 10, 2025, led by Christian Saborowski, for the first and second reviews of the country’s Extended Credit Facility-supported programme.
