Hopes for a peace deal with Iran have faded after United States (US) President Donald Trump said a ceasefire was “on life support”.
Tehran has rejected a US proposal to end the conflict, sticking to what Trump called “garbage” demands.
Iran is calling for an end to fighting on all fronts, including in Lebanon, where Israel is battling Hezbollah fighters backed by Tehran.
It also wants recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, compensation for war damage, and an end to the US naval blockade, among other conditions.
