Embassy of Iran in South Africa has said it will work closely with SA’s Department of International Relations to assist SA citizens

The Embassy of Iran in South Africa (SA) has said it will work closely with SA’s Department of International Relations to assist SA citizens currently in Iran following recent international military strikes.

The statement comes after attacks carried out by the United States (US) and Israel on Iranian targets, which have heightened international concerns about regional stability.

Iran’s Ambassador to SA, Seyed Mostafa Daryabari, said Tehran remains committed to what he described as defending national sovereignty and continuing the political legacy of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

He said the embassy is particularly concerned about SA nationals who may be stranded in Iran, adding that diplomatic teams are ready to provide consular support and help facilitate safe communication with families and authorities.

The embassy said it will continue coordinating with SA officials to ensure the safety of foreign nationals while urging calm as diplomatic efforts continue to address the escalating tensions.
