Parliament of Kenya has approved a co-operation agreement with France

The parliament of Kenya has approved a co-operation agreement with France aimed at strengthening security, peacekeeping, training and humanitarian support.

The deal is expected to deepen collaboration between the two countries, particularly in areas such as defence capacity, joint training programmes and crisis response.

Speaking in an interview, Nairobi-based political analyst Martin Wren said the agreement reflects Kenya’s broader strategy to enhance regional stability while building stronger international partnerships.

He noted that such co-operation could improve Kenya’s preparedness in dealing with emerging security threats, while also boosting its role in peacekeeping efforts across the region.
